This year I finally "made the move" to workout. I had noticed the muscles of a golf acquaintance who currently works with Kloe, and she referred me to her. I had previously lost 55 pounds, which was great, but now realized I needed strength and wanted some muscle curves!! The programs that Kloe designed specifically for me are just right. We've been working on fascia release, balancing my muscle strength to support my joints, and improving my overall balance, and core strength - who knew that this part was so important first?! Now I am working on my strength and 'muscle curves'! It turns out I am somewhat competitive! Workouts are always challenging and fun. I would be tempted to do too much but Kloe keeps me in check so injuries won't happen. We have been working together for 3.5 months and I am thrilled with my results. I am stronger, more energetic with increased endurance as well, and am proud of my determination and happier! I have lost 10.5 inches overall and down another 7.5 pounds! I was tired of carrying around the same 15 pounds for 15 years, even though I truly tried to lose weight on my own. My motivation to step it up came from my mentor Sandra who, in her early 70's, started seeing a personal trainer named Kloe and just raved about her. I attended a fundraiser for the L'Arche Society where I bought a Fitness Consultation and Body Composition gift certificate donated by Kloe from Make a Move. I was later given the Nutritional Assessment gift certificate by a friend of Sandra's and a client of Kloe's, and this combination was just what I needed! Kloe finds out all about you and your habits, then works in small steps to help you improve your day by day; be it drinking more water and eating more protein, to buying heavier weights and introducing small challenges to your workout regime. And this was all that I needed to start seeing small successes on the scale and feeling better in my clothes. What surprised me the most was how quickly I felt my body becoming stronger and tighter, and my heart health improving as I was able to endure longer periods of intense workouts! I couldn’t have done this without Kloe cheering me on and giving me ideas on how to stay motivated. It all worked! I lost those stubborn pounds and 12 inches so far! In 2013 I suffered from extreme pain due to a bulging disc at C5-6. My doctors recommended strengthening my neck muscles to help deal with the problem. I saw Kloe at Make a Move and she thoroughly tested me and gave me a personal fitness regime. Her testing and measuring was very scientific and resulted in a well designed fitness plan. She designed an exercise regime with corrective exercises to strengthen my neck and my core, and also to balance my muscle strength in my whole body . I now see her regularly to do the fitness testing, progress or change up my fitness routine, and make it a point to check in with her whenever something changes in my back or neck. I think she is an essential member of one's health care team. I recommend her to everyone I know who needs help with their health, fitness, dealing with back/neck pain and issues relating to their core. Kloe is a great encourager and a wonderful fitness coach.

Kloe is a special person who puts her heart into her work and is dedicated to her clients in helping them reach their goals!! During my last pregnancy I had severe low back pains that I had various tests done for as well as an MRI, My Doctor said that those pains will always "just be there". After I went through Kloe's fitness assessment, she found where my pains stemmed from, which were tight hip and bum muscles and designed a program to loosen them and strengthen my core. After that 2nd session with her she had already done more for me than my doctor did in 2.5 years! Alongside of this, we right away did her nutrition assessment. She helped me dig into my diet to find the foods that were also causing inflammation in my body!! I had no idea changing my diet could help so much. After my pains dissolved she then created a strength training program and cardio program to help me achieve some things I've always wanted to do. I have lost 10 pounds, started running, and ran a 5km distance without even knowing it, with her by my side!! Kloe always goes the extra mile!! She sends me texts to check in with me, asks me how my body feels today or what I ate for lunch!!...which keeps me accountable and makes me realize how much she cares! I have always been someone who has tried to stay fit, but as I aged, I found that my expectations for personal fitness were slipping into a more sedentary lifestyle. My motivation to work with Kloe came from hearing stories from some of her other clients and my own concerns about whether or not I was doing all I needed to stay fit and healthy. I've come along way since June when I was barely moving. I enjoy our sessions, feel much stronger, my body feels tighter, and my balance has improved. I have very little need for physiotherapy sessions now. Exercise has helped me mentally also. I am less anxious, more positive, and feel more in control when aches and pains do arise. What we call 'roller derby" [ foam roller- self myofascial release techniques] that you encouraged me to try, makes me feel like I can help myself, rather than having to wait for a professional appointment. At 70 yeaars of age, I was diagnosed with extensive coronary artery disease, not amenable to surgury, and my cardiologist advised maximum medical therapy (lot's of pills) and "stay active" At 75, osteoarthritis started to limit the "stay active" assignment. Group activity classes were not prescriptive enough, physiotherapy gave only temporary relief, and pain medication was short term help. Your customized program is meeting the goals of a guy who will soon be 80 years old-- keeping the remaining heart capacity ticking along for an active life, and keeping the body strong and flexible enough for the things I want to do, without significant pain. I am stronger for yard and garden work, have energy for longer in the day and can summon up a "second wind" when necessary. I can again pick up my golf ball from the hole with my own hand (more comfortable bending). I sleep better. My mind seems a bit sharper. The variety of fitness programs you provided me over the past year has made me stronger, more fit, and have less "random" pains. I feel more stable, mobile and flexible. My shape has changed, and my muscular endurance has improved. I have more energy, sleep better, have less "mental resistance" to exercising, and have gotten more into a routine with my workouts. I have known Kloe for many years. We connected through our mutual interest in financial/physical fitness! Kloe gave me a plan years ago and I, like many others worked at it for a bit and then gave up. In March 2016, I decided to put as much passion into a fitness plan as I do financial plans. From my first workout designed for me, I could tell having you involved would be a huge positive for my fitness.The workouts feel good and obviously hit the areas I need. The value from having your expertise is knowing that the program is a complete workout, hitting all areas of the body. Another value is that the program is manageable for my available time and schedule, not just endless hours of working harder to get results. I like that we can meet to evaluate my progress and the program and that you monitor and modify the program to further my results and to keep the program current to my needs. The best part of it all is that the program is specific and targeted to my goals, strengths and my physical needs. Who would have thought that after having 2 large babies in 2 years that I would be able to say that, at the age of 31 not only have I just run my first-ever 10 km race, but I am the most fit and healthy that I have ever been. I have been attending the "Get and Keep Fit" program offered by Lethbridge College since the fall of 2006. The classes are one hour twice a week, but this past year some of the class asked this to be increased to three times a week and the College agreed. Some only go twice a week, but the majority have opted for three. I am a senior and as is quite common, over the years had not taken the time to keep up on regular exercise. I had a heart attack in September 2006 which prompted me to get off the couch and into the gym!! This past season we have had the good fortune to have Kloe as our main instructor. Her routine provides a balanced program of cardio, strength, flexibility and balance exercises. I have been bothered by pain in my right shoulder joint for a long long time and just considered it one of those things that happens as we age. I am very happy to say that the weight training combined with other exercise, the soreness has all but disappeared. What is really good about this program is that you work and progress at your own pace!! Kloe provides instruction in a positive, friendly manner and makes the sessions very enjoyable!! So, if you have a bit of spare time and would like to increase your mobility, think about joining us 2-3 times a week for some good exercise and visitation. Don Funk
